Uitstelling Allerheiligste
Elke eerste vrijdag van de maand van 11:00 tot 12:00 uur.
Stil zijn bij Christus. Dat is de meest eenvoudige beschrijving van ‘eucharistische aanbidding’. Zittend of geknield in stilte de aandacht richten op de geconsacreerde hostie vormt de kern ervan. De hostie – een plat stukje ongedesemd of ongegist brood – wordt getoond in een meestal rijk versierde houder, ‘monstrans’ geheten. ‘Eucharistische aanbidding’ verwijst naar de mis waarin de hostie bij de consecratie volgens de katholieke geloofsleer ‘wezenlijk’ en niet uiterlijk verandert in het ‘Lichaam van Christus’. De hostie wordt ook wel ‘Allerheiligste’, ‘Allerheiligst Sacrament’ of ‘Eucharistie’ genoemd.
Adoration & Eucharistic Prayer (English)
Join us for a monthly Eucharistic adoration every 4th Friday in the month at 7:30pm. The prayer will take place in our church.
Eucharistic adoration is a devotional practice in which the Blessed Sacrament is adored by the faithful. This practice may occur either when the Eucharist is exposed, or when it is not publicly viewable because it is reserved in a place such as a tabernacle.
Adoration is a sign of devotion to and worship of Jesus Christ, who is present in body, blood, soul, and divinity, under the appearance of the consecrated host, that is, sacramental bread. From a theological perspective, the adoration is a form of latria, based on the tenet of the real presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament
Wat gebeurt er tijdens de Eucharistische Aanbidding?
De monstrans met de hostie is neergezet. Dit heet ‘uitstelling van het Allerheiligste’. Hierdoor ontstaat tevens de mogelijkheid voor wie maar wil om binnen te lopen en enige tijd mee te doen met de aanbidding. De ervaring leert dat eucharistische aanbidding aantrekkelijk is voor mensen met sterk uiteenlopende achtergronden en van verschillende geloofsrichtingen die verlangen naar momenten om tot inkeer, bezinning of gewoon tot rust te komen. Iedereen is welkom. Ervaar in de stilte de aanwezigheid van God.
